New Website!

Hey My Lovelies,

I have been working really hard to build my portfolio over the past few months and have now built one on my new website!

I have had a new logo designed by my amazing friend Dawn and a swanky name logo to go with it!

I am really pleased with it and thought I would share it with you all! Let me know what you think.

Weight Loss Wednesday - Healthy Crisps!!!

This Weight Loss Wednesday the scales showed a loss of -2 lbs! That makes a total of 79.5 lbs!

This week I wanted to share with you a way to have your crisps and eat them too! A friend of mine bought herself a crisp maker and when she realised how healthy it was she bought me one too! She got ours from achica.com but you can get them from other companies too. I was so excited at the thought of being able to have crisps that weren't loads of pro points!

It is the easiest thing to make and takes about ten minutes!

TopChips is the set I have.
It comes with a slicer that creates super thin slices and the plate you place them on to cook
First you slice what ever veggie or fruit you are going to crisp
Then place all the slices (not over lapping) onto the plate and pop in the microwave! Start at 3.5 minutes and then check, put them back in for longer if they need it
and then you are left with YUMMY crisps!

As you can see I used apple which is a nice way to have something sweet that is zero points. You could use most vegetables, carrots, butternut squash, beetroot and obviously potatoes, I love vegetable crisps but they can be really high in points, the same with normal crisps. I have bought weight watchers crisps before as they are low in pp's but there's a reason for that.....you only get about three crisps! So now our crisp problems are solved!

Have you tried a crisp maker before? What other things would you crisp?

Pretty Pastels!

With pastel shades being all the rage right now I just couldn't help but pick up these nail varnishes from Barry M! The easiest way to be on trend with out having to buy a whole new wardrobe is to bring the colours into your nails and make up. Barry M are always bringing out new colours to keep in with the seasons must haves and there pastel varnishes are no exception!

317 Blue Moon, a really pretty baby blue
308 Berry Ice Cream this lilac shade will go with pretty much anything!
309 Strawberry Ice Cream Pretty in pink, this is a great every day shade to keep you on trend!

At the moment these varnishes are part of the 3 for 2 offer at boots so now is a great time to grab them! They are £2.99 each, there are a few other pastel shades to choose from too!

What do you think of the pastel colours? Which of these will you be buying?

Make Up Monday - Lip Boom

I'm sure that a lot of you will have seen lots of tweets last week about the launch of MUA's Lip Boom which they have designed with Alexandra Burke. Well the lovely people over at MUA sent me some of the Lip Boom colours to try out and give you guys a sneak peak!
Lip Boom is set to be a handbag must and a one stop product, with the ability to give your lips a fuller and glossy finish! Lip Boom has a Lipstick at one end and a highlighting gloss at the other. The lipsticks are matte which is great, as it can be hard to find matte lip colours that stay put! You can use this product as a plain lip colour or add the high lighting gloss for a high end finish, Karla Powell (MUA's head Make Up artist) suggests using the gloss on the cupids bow for a fuller looking top lip or in the middle of both lips for a plumped out full lip!

I love the idea of the lip Booms as they are the perfect day time to evening glamour product to have in your handbag! They feel really nice on your lips and the colours are really bright, perfect for this spring/summer!   They come in eight different shades so there is plenty to choose from and at only £3.00 you can treat yourself to a few! The lip booms will be available from 9th May at Superdug so mark the date in your beauty diaries!

Alexandra Burke say the array of vibrant colours reflect her personality, and the names speak for themselves, and in the words of Alexandra herself "Always be you, always be vibrant!"

What do you think? Will you be getting Lip Boom when its released?

Weight Loss Wednesday - 10%

I know this post is going up late but I thought it is better late than never?!

This week I lost -0.5 lbs, this isn't an amazing amount but it is moving in the right direction!

A couple of weeks back my weight loss meant I had lost 10% of my body weight since I had rejoined Weight Watchers in September (with my total weight loss over the past two years I have actually lost 25%!!). With Weight Watchers they give you small goals to work towards like 5%, 10%, half a stone, etc. Most of these are acknowledged with stickers on your weigh in card but at 10% you are given a key ring! I was given mine this week.

The key ring is symbolic of your weight loss journey and something that keeps it altogether! You are then given an additional charm of a Key when you hit your final goal and then for every year you remain at goal you are given a Star charm!

It's nice to recognise when you hit the small goals, I think it keeps you going. When you are losing weight it is very easy to look at the end point and give up before you even start but if you set yourself realistic, small goals you can do it a bit at a time! I recommend that you reward yourself with little treats (maybe not cake though!) maybe a new item of clothing, some jewelry or a hand bag?!

Have you set yourself any goals? more importantly what are your rewards?

Tres Chic Magazine

Back in January I was did the make up for a photoshoot with Tres Chic magazine, which is a Stylish, Sophisticated and savvy hand bag sized magazine. It's based around Fashion and Beauty and is a free magazine that is distributed around the Bristol and south west area.

The shoot I took part in had a twenties theme, with some amazing vintage clothing and accessories being worn. The hair was done by stylists from Toni and Guy and Essentials in Bath, which looked amazing!

This was a great shoot as we were at Leigh Court which is beautiful.

Here are some of the pics from the shoot that were used in the February issue of Tres Chic.

You can see the rest of them here on my Facebook page!

Even if you are not in an area where Tres Chic is distributed you can still go on there website which is really good, It has loads of info on current trends, beauty advice and events, you can also click through to see the most recent issues online! Just click here!
